Two fairy tales, answering both sides of one mystery.
The series reads Novalis’s Klingsohr’s Fairy Tale and Goethe’s The Green Snake and the Beautiful Lily in full, with commentary as it goes. Along the way: fable and the path of love of the muse and the artist, man as the art of nature, Perseus and the Medusa, the forming of the eye consciousness, and the secret story of the human children. It closes on endless love and feminine fertility, Goethe and Novalis in the trials of the present age, and the past and future karma of woman’s love and the poets.
The tales themselves are included alongside the lectures, with a biography of Novalis and one of his Spiritual Songs.
