Are You An Author or Would Like to Be One?
There is a constant need, in a large sector of humanity, for words that Feed the Mind. You may be of the opinion, why bother? But for others who have a hunger inside them that needs to be fed, there is a constant need to fill the empty space. Some like to fill it with music, others with film or art. The underlying factor need not be what you might think, such as particulars, but in the end, people tend to chose according to their diet. The question then is this, can you write in general, or in particulars, and when. That is what defines 'Threads' of subjects. People actually form 'threads' or 'tentacles' that search for links to their system. A good author can sense the seeking of the seekers in advance of the seekers. Think of a breakfast cook. He makes his preparations according to his menu the week before. It does not bother people who love his daily offerings, and trust in his skill. That is exactly right for the tastes of his audience. Now, for human beings, we have this peculiarity of grouping people according to mental tastes. We like to think, if so and so feeds there, then they are grouped according to that. Now isn't that wonderful or is it just plain incorrect? Imagine the error can result. One person cannot be simply judged so. We cannot imagine anything so absurd in fact. So you eat a falafel, are you Israeli, Jordanian, or Greek or American Native? But the prospect gets even more absurd the you think about it. Falafel is potentially a wonderful meal for anyone everywhere. What is the problem then? Well, it boils down to this, if you happen to feed on some intellectual idea for a time, it can taste great too! But that won't make you change your heredity. That is the riddle of every author. I wonder if it matters that much if one who does your cooking has to follow your bend of thought? Perhaps it does help, and perhaps it means you won't be poisoned! How about that. You see, an author makes you think, reflect, contemplate and if he doesn't do that, then the coin you spend (time is money) is wasted. Let's face it, we want to enjoy the things at the same time provide nourishment. The combination is the key - like every lock, it opens or is shut until we have the combination that opens it and unlocks the treasure.
Here is the question? Do you think you can do that? I mean, can you 'cook' things (like thoughts) in such a way that people will not only enjoy them, but also be nourished? That is the goal of every good author, in the same way it is the unspoken, hidden duty of every cook in every kitchen, to keep his clients alive. The round trip is important. One bad tummy, it will end your relationship to the cook. That would be as bad as serving pie before the main course, your client might enjoy it, but before the main course comes, he is already feeling doom down there. His smile does not help. When tips stop flowing, the waiter is the 1st one to know why. People always ask the waiter, the server, the go between, is this a good choice? No senor, that is not your taste! Choose the salad, trust me. Every good meal deserves a good explanation! An voice of warning serves to make articles food for thought for the right time of day and the right diet. It makes sense to tell your audience stage by stage until the grand finale! Pie!
