Easter Sunday in 2024 fell on 31 March. These five were given across it — the eve, the day itself, and the day after. The through-line is the Gospel of John, and the question of what light is.

The five lectures

Spiritual Light. A reading from John 9 — the healing of the man born blind. The Pharisees, asked why they want to know about Jesus, answer that they are disciples of Moses only; and then ask what spirit Jesus works by. The lecture is emphatic that none of this is about physical blindness. Then the voice of God: they grant that Moses spoke with God, but hold that no man now can. And the pre-conception underneath it — that all men are born blind and deaf, wholly born in sin. Why believe that? And what power would have pre-conditioned men to fall into sin, blindness and death? The question the lecture arrives at is: who is the Son of Man?

Human Evil and the Path of Light. Time and acoustic geometry. The micro realm — the portal to the hidden world, the channels and wheels within, and that which holds the parts together. Then the Supreme Axiom: the mathematical axiom of the whole, set against Aristotle’s axiom of parts. Acoustic phenomena and acoustic geometry — steps and points, and the mathematics of the senses. The keys to consciousness, and the inner laws of a conscious spirit-being. Then the stormy night of March 31st, the friction and fire of aggregated darkness, and the mystery door of the darkness within the soul.

The Sons of Glory. The deep and hidden meaning of John 10. The voice of the Spirit is here, today — and the power of the Word of the Spirit. The picture-language of the gospel at John 10:6. The mystery of the door: the secret door, and the door and the thief of the world. The elements of the mind, of light and water within. The shepherd, the lamb and the virgin — the mystery lamb and the mystical sacrifice. What ‘son of God’ means, and the coming of the new Sons of God, and what becomes of the sacrifice. It turns on the saying: no one can take my life from me.

Life-forces of Spiritual-man and Spiritual-nature. Cosmic energy and the cosmic spiritual-man, and the secrets of Cosmic-man and electricity — the notes call this one of the most profound lectures on the regenerative forces in man. The heart chakra and the secret of feeding the heart; the mystery of feed my sheep. The veiled forms of cosmic aether. The hidden nature within — the opening of the inner portal, and the signs of the inner nature. The intelligence of creatures and nature spirits. Aether and aer, the invisible life-forces, and the nature-beings standing at the doors.

The Secret of the Heavenly Light-nature. John 13, at the Passover, read through to 16. The separation — the discourse on the separation of the Christ from men, its stages, the separation of men from one another, and from the streaming power of the invisible Spirit. Then the transition: the disciples scatter at the very moment the Christ Body overcomes the corruption of earth-nature. You will not see me, but I will speak in your hearts. With James 1:15. And the secret light — we know the light of the mind, but what else is light for a soul? The treasure of the soul, who can find it and by what means, and the opening of the heart chakra.
