Karma of the Spirit and the Earthly

A student asked his teacher:

What is Karma?

A good place to start is to establish the unique form of the human soul, and ask How? Where did it come from? Then take a stone or piece of wood, anything all the way up to the animals, and we can trace them to something earthly. With man you come to yourself, and the self is the cause of your being, even in so far as the space you have live in within your self is your own and separate from the world. So now, what is the foundation of all other things, is not the same for a human being. So then start with the soul and work from that to the source of itself, and you come to the same source as the world was before the world was a world. This world man carries about with him, but he cannot see anything external that tells him anything of his inner world. If nature too, as spirit, approached the creations of the world and came to a man as an external being, she too would not be able to say why he thinks, or what he is thinking for that is within him. But when a man has befriended this same spirit by shaping his Karma so as to develop himself, then the world spirit joins with his soul. If this is a man's karma, then he is a spirit man, but if the man looks for his self as a body, then he is a man where only earthly karma is visible in him. He must train himself to look correctly for that which is spirit in him and in the world.
